Born and raised in sunny San Diego in a Vietnamese and Mexican family, Amy speaks Spanish fluently. Her mixed cultural background gives Amy an open and curious perspective on the people around her.
Amy graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in Philosophy. She started her career at a substance abuse treatment facility, helping patients get insurance coverage for the care they need. Amy has always enjoyed working with people and decided to move to Oregon to pursue a law degree. She attended the University of Oregon School of Law and served on the executive boards of the Latinx Law Student Association and the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association.
Amy has experience in various legal fields, including construction defect, family law, immigration, and housing, all of which reinforced her desire to help others. She started her legal career helping survivors of domestic violence and providing representation to people who need it the most. Amy wants to continue her work in helping people with her J.D. She joined Cheng Law, LLC to represent everyday people against insurance companies and corporations.
Amy enjoys connecting with people and using her education to stand up for clients when the going gets tough. She is passionate about increasing access to justice, particularly for fellow Spanish-speakers. In her free time, Amy enjoys reading, cooking, and hanging out with her partner and three cats.
